We aim to provide a de-stressing friendly, relaxed atmosphere and subscribe to the old adage "If it harms none, do-as you please!" Please feel at home.
The Hill House is hidden away in over 4 acres of private woodlands. Facing south and west at an elevation of around 500 feet. The views are spectacular:
South towards the mysterious and ancient deep woods of the Royal Forest of Dean.
West into Wales over the beautiful Wye Valley the distant winter snow capped Black Mountains.
Herds of wildebeest* have been seen sweeping majestically across the plain.
We provide the very best quality wholesome food (please state carnivore of herbivore) - sourced locally from small farms who really care. Nearly all organic, GM free and free range. The Hill House supper changes with the seasons but please give some notice as everything is slow (AGA) cooked.
The breakfast feast of British rather than English (Continental if you insist) and can be served in the morning room - sunshine, birds and radio 4 or even in bed, at a time to suit you.
A typical evening could be spent watching the setting sun turn the Black Mountains red from Abergavenny over the 'cats back' to Hay Bluff, then a sauna and splash (bring your favourite music) possibly one of Alex's massages, supper and drinks in the bar or outside under the stars. Or, you could just sit in the hot-tub drinking English champagne. If you can stay up long enough you may meet our ghosts. * May have been cows.
